Name: Loki Laufeyson
Series: Marvel Comics
Timeline: 616 Universe: Post-Fear Itself story arc, but prior to any memory nonsense.
Canon Resource Links: Marvel Wiki
Personality:
A long long time ago in a galaxy not-so-far away, Loki, son of Laufey, child of Odin (and so on and so forth), was the *~God of Mischief and Evil~* and pretty much made everyone's lives miserable. He resented and hated his brother Thor for the favorable treatment from their Father, Odin. He was manipulative and his pranks downright malicious and well you get the picture. He also brought about Asgard's fall. To put it his his own lingering spirit's words:
So yeah, he killed himself in hopes of being born anew. And indeed he was!
There are indeed some similarities between the old Loki and new. He is still highly intelligent, capable of learning in what he believes to be difficult language in only an evening. He is also well-spoken, sarcastic, and and unreliable, often telling lies when it'd be easier to tell the truth. However, the most defining similarity, the one trait that makes Loki well… Loki, is his tendencies and natural talent towards trickery and mischief.
Still this Loki is, for the most part, a completely different animal. He is a relatively blank slate, with very few memories of his past life. While he enjoys such just as much as the old Loki, his tricks lack the maliciousness and clear desire to do harm that were so prominent of his previous self's. While he's not harmless, he lacks an overall cruel nature and has a genuine desire to be better. Rather than hold grudge against Asgard and attempt to destroy it, he acts instead to save it. And he does so through the means he knows best, trickery. Throughout the Fear Itself story arc, he secretly works to give Thor a fighting chance against their Uncle, the Fear Lord, the Serpent. He does so by pretending to be the villain and although not the best at acting like one, he manages to manipulate Mephisto, Hela, and Sutur into helping him destroy the Serpent's Dark Asgard. Thus far, his truly malicious acts seem to always have a secretly positive goal. He seems to believe that the ends justify the means.
He also seems to have a far greater capability for feeling empathy than his older self. Though he doesn't hesitate to do so, he feels guilty for betraying the Disnir after promising he would free them and for his responsibility for Thor's death. Although this takes place beyond the canonpoint I'm taking him from, I have another example. When he gets sent seven hel-hound puppies but can't find a home for the last one, the All-Mother's tell him to dispose of it because it's no good. It has bad blood like its father. Ultimately, Loki is unable to do so and keeps it for himself. This greater capacity for empathy also seems to fuel his desire to do better, and make up for the evils of his past life. He fears growing up to become the very same person he was before. He believes all he's good at is lies and trickery, and that perhaps his actions will one day betray him and he is unable to change. But that doesn't mean he won't try.
Loki has great interest in and wants to learn about Midgard. He is the only Asgardian god with a smartphone (which he paid for with gold he got from gambling with dwarves) as well as an iPad. He watches movies to learn about Midgardian society. He also seems to spend plenty of time on the Internet and learns about all the popular Internet memes.
Most importantly, Loki's feelings towards his foster brother Thor are far different from his previous incarnation. Thor is, to say the least, very important to Loki. He's the reason Loki's alive. He's Loki's sole protector. Although he doesn't trust Loki (and with good reason), he does very much love him despite the cruelty and actions of his past life. Loki loves and needs Thor to the point that leads him to behave very... well atypically, such as jumping into a vein of bubbling space and time to save his brother because he just knows Thor is in trouble in there. He has more of a child-like innocence with his brother and unusual sense of sincerity. He seems to idolize Thor.
So in conclusion, Loki is still a trickster, but not a spitefully evil dick about it.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths:
- As far as irrelevant things that will be taken away as soon as he arrives in Route, he has superhuman strength and durability, leaving him immune to human diseases and injuries. He also has a greatly increased lifespan and ages much slower than humans.
- Though hardly the most skilled of fighters, he knows how to use a weapon well enough to possibly not die.
- Though not so much a skill, he speaks the All-Tongue, meaning any man hears him in their native language. It's nifty.
- He is incredibly smart (genius level), cunning, well spoken, and can learn things very quickly. For an example, he learned "the old tongue," which as a difficult endeavor took an entire evening to learn.
- True to his title as the God of Mischief--well, former God of Mischief--he has an innate talent for mischief making and other related and unscrupulous things such as lying (which goes well with the whole silver-tongued thing), scheming, gambling, cheating, and stealing.
Weaknesses:
- With only part of his identity restored, he therefore no longer possesses the several the several millennia's worth of knowledge and memories he once had. And although irrelevant in the setting, he no longer has any of his own magic powers.
- Loki is a self-confessed compulsive liar, and has a tendency to lie even when it would be easier to tell the truth. This, along with so many other things, makes him incredibly untrustworthy.
- His mischief making and lying more often than not leads to trouble.
- Although intelligent, he's far more naive and gullible as a child.
- Not nearly as good with the ladies as his older self.

[The video turns on to show a boy just barely in his teens with green eyes and a short mop of black hair. He gives a quick wave to the screen.]
Assuming there is anyone else who can see this, hello! While suddenly being trapped in a Midgardian video game itself warrants plenty of questions, which I'm sure will get answered in time--
[He gets interrupted by a loud] Bliiiitz!
Shush, you. [He returns his attention to the screen.] Like I was going to say before my new friend here interrupted me, I have a far more important question. Do these devices have access to the Internet?
Third Person Sample:
"Get back here, you!" cried an angry middle-aged man as he chased Loki down the busy streets of Goldenrod City, "you better give me my money back!"
Needless to say, the young trickster wasn't going to get back there any time soon. With his Blitzle at his side, he ran as fast as his short legs could carry him, which thankfully was fast enough to make his escape. If only his electric striped horse (er, his zebra) was a bit larger. He could have made his second most hasty escape--the first being that time he hijacked that scientist's car to get away from one very enraged All-Father. But alas, such would never work.
He quickly turned a few street corners before hiding behind the nearest dumpster, hoping to have lost the pissed off sucker in the crowds. He hadn't done anything wrong, really! He had been running low on Pokedollars and getting a typical human job sounded like a total bore, so he decided make use of his own talents. It wasn't his fault the old man couldn't keep up his winning streak with the shell game.
… Okay, maybe it was his fault, but he was a young boy and needed to eat. He knew his brother wouldn't approve. But Thor wasn't here. Thor was dead and it was all Lo--no, it had to be done. It had to be done to save everyone.
After a good 30 seconds of waiting, Loki peeked out from behind the dumpster.
"Phew."
Luckily, his escape tactics had worked and irate victim was gone. For now, anyway. He just hoped he wouldn't run into his again any time soon. He'd probably have to set his table up elsewhere in the city.
He jumped up, brushed himself off, and smiled at his Pokemon companion, "That was close. Let's get something to eat, shall we?"
